What role does persistence play in revising, refining, and developing work? Persistence is a driving force that we have to accomplish something. Asking what kind of role it might play in revising, refining, and developing work can be answered with that it makes us strive to improve. If you continue to go through the same motion time and time again with the same attitude, then you aren't truly gaining anything. The persistence, or drive, to improve on anything is what truly shows a persons growth through out that span of time. How do artists grow and become accomplished in photography?
Growth is not measured in how well a photo looks or if they do everything correct, but how you are able to take what you've already learned and improve upon it. A photographer might start out mediocre, but if they are able to listen, learn, and improve then they will find success. They will succeed because they are willing to look at the flaws and success as both lessons for them to improve upon. How does collaboratively reflecting on photography help us experience reflection better?
Group collaboration allows for different minds to share their ideas. If everyone had similar, or the same, thought process, then humans would not be able to evolve socially. It also provides a chance for the presenter, or creator, to learn from what they have shown and allows them to see what they could improve upon. AS#9
How do you determine criteria to judge a photo, what aspects are you looking for? The first thing I determine when looking at someone's photo is if they fully understand the concept or idea of the project they are working on. I then typically follow it up with looking at the quality of the photo and seeing if they are missing anything, something doesn't look right, or how much effort they put into it. How and why might criteria vary in photography?
The idea of criteria revolves around the standard in which you base your work off of. How it might vary isn't really definitive because it changes from teacher to teacher. One might put more stock in how well the end product looks like while another might care more about how well the student followed the steps laid out in front of them. Reasoning behind why it might vary is also the same. Every teacher has a different set of standards than the last and how they do things might be different as. No two are truly the same because of the human element involved. How is a personal preference different from an evaluation when judging a photo?
Personal preference and evaluation are two seperate ideas of thought when it comes to judging something. Personal preference, as it sounds, is based around what you like no matter how well the other options are in terms of quality, effort, etc. Evaluation on the other hand is impartial no matter what. Someone typically with this mindset looks for the best in what all the choices, no matter if it was created by their friend or a stranger for example. |
